Beverley has been associated with the Yackandandah Theatre Company for fifteen years, and first started writing plays to meet the needs of this group. Her playwriting career was given a huge boost in 2010 when she won Best Play in the Eltham Little Theatre’s Ten Minute Quickie Competition with Item on the News. This short play was then performed by Short + Sweet in Canberra, Melbourne and Sydney. Other ten minute plays have been performed at the Short + Sweet Festival in Sydney (2013, 2014 & 2015). Beverley’s play, Watermarks, was placed third in the 2014 Carnival of Flowers One Act Play Writing Competition. In their 2015 competition her play, Saturdays on the Sidelines was placed second. Beverley has also had several monologues performed by Hothouse Theatre in Wodonga, Short Fringe in Albury and ‘Mad Women Monologues’ (Baggage Productions) in Melbourne. Other short plays have been performed by Play Six in Melbourne, Townsville Little Theatre, Bay Theatre Players (Bateman’s Bay) and Gemco Players. Beverley has continued to write for the Yackandandah Theatre Company with monologues included in the productions of From Here to There (2016) and Living Memory (2017).

Watermarks was a finalist in the Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers One Act Play Writing Competition and was performed by Toowoomba Repertory in September 2014. It was placed third.

TEN MINUTE
