Tailwind

Galahs in Flight 900 x 150

An intrepid grandmother, riding her bike from Townsville to Broome, picks herself up from a traumatic experience and just keeps pedalling. A young woman meets a stranger on a bus and discovers things that are lost cannot always be found. A student presents her teacher with an unusual gift helping the giver step into a new life.

This collection of 18 stories draws on Beverley Lello’s travels in Australia and overseas as well as evoking a landscape closer to her home in north-east Victoria. They weave together themes of love, loss and resilience, and at their heart is the shared hope that ‘tomorrow… there will be a tailwind.’
